The 1 July 1999 meeting of the SBMS will have Derek, KN6TD talk about his plans for a 10 GHz digital repeater. The SBMS meets at the American Legion Hall 1024 Main Street (south of the 91 freeway in Corona, CA at 1900 hours local time on the first Thursday of each month..
Last meeting had Jeff, KN6VR talk about and X-Band radar transverter to L-band IF. This was the start of Jeff's plan to talk about how transverters are constructed and some of the things to think about when doing so. Derek's talk on the 10 GHz repeater was delayed until July. Doug, K6JEY agreed to talk in August on sine adders and noise figure. 23 people present.
The last Saturday in July (31st) [following TRW swapmeet] will be another picnic/ rig measuring event at the Costa Mesa park (Fairview Park) from 11 to 3. This will be another join SBMS and San Diego Microwave Group adventure. See enclosed map.

GHz) to help populate the bands; Robin, WA6CDR reported that the 1 May SCRRBA meeting on 20 KHz 440 band spacing was successful with a unanimous vote. Having over 80% of the US users of the 440-450 MHz band in California and some 600 users of 200 channels in SOCA the meeting was expected to be a war for a full day. It turned out to be a 4 hour meeting which came to a quick conclusion for the existing equipment available to amateurs. Basically the radios on .25 will move to .20, those on .50 move to .40, a new "channel" at .60 appears, those at .75 move to .80. All this will happen before fall 99. A lot of it has switched already.
