The IEEE Conference is still on in the Anaheim area, but SBMS and San Diego Microwave Group were there last night, promoting Amateur Microwave to both junior and senior engineering professionals in the wireless industry. Michelle Thompson - W5NYV was showing off her 3-D printed prototype of a 122 GHz cassegrain subreflector. Hers was, no question, the most high tech of the demos. Rein - W6SZ and Brian - AF6NA both brought our 10G rigs and had numerous conversations with interested people. I personally spoke with engineers from Italy, Poland, Germany, Austria, Spain, Canada, India and the U.S. One engineer from Santa Barbara said he used to work with Steve Miller - W6QIW, and I encouraged him to contact Steve about Amateur microwave.
So the outing was a success because microwave Hams made the time to come out.
Thanks to W5NYV and W6SZ for your advocacy of amateur microwave.
And thanks to Jeffrey - WA6KBL for getting us in the door. 73
