Chip N6CA and Jack N6XQ getting a ride over to the hotel on the other side of Cumberland bay. It took about 15 minutes top get there when the boat was available.

The boat, the oars, mast, boom and sails were all hand made on the island. All lumber was hand cut using a chain saw. Our pilot sometimes fished on these excursions. Boats were powered by outboard motors but could be rowed and sailed as well. The motor was mounted internal to the hull and had another "transom" aft for the sailing rudder. These boats were about 20 feet in length and were primarily used for Langosta (lobster) and crab fishing.
